When I found out we were having twins, my mind started racing with questions—Do we need two of everything? What’s really worth the money? What can we skip? After surviving those newborn days with twins (and a toddler just 14 months older!), I can confidently say that some baby items truly made life easier—and others just took up space. In this post, I’m sharing the twin baby gear we used, loved, and would absolutely recommend to any parent of multiples. My hope is that this list saves you some time, money, and maybe even a little sanity!

The Must Haves
👉 Z-Pillow

Our twins lived in this pillow for the first few months of their life! Especially with an older toddler, it was such a relief to have an easy way to prop the twins up and give them bottles at the same time. The girls still play with the pillow now. Plus, it’s very useful if you’re breastfeeding one or both twins and great for practicing tummy time!
Something I would recommend to any mama—especially one of twins. Since our twins sleep in the same room, it was important for us to have a way to block out some of the noise when one woke up. It also helped me feel less worried about them waking up if we had company over during nap time, watched a movie, or even ran laundry (which is right next to our eldest’s room).
This monitor is durable, easy to use, has some great features, and not WiFi-enabled (which I prefer).
The Big Boys – Worth Every Penny
👉 Wagon
This is hands down our favorite “baby item” of all time! We decided to splurge on it when our twins were almost 6 months old, right before fall. I needed a way to get out with my three kids under two, and this wagon was the perfect solution. It comes with a canopy and optional side flaps, adjustable/removable bench seats, and the option for the seats to face forward or each other. There’s storage under the seats, and it folds easily (after you do it once or twice). We still use it daily because it comfortably fits big kids too and even brought it to the beach—it made life so much easier! Just note: it’s big. It fits fine in a minivan but might be tough in a smaller car. A smaller two-seater version is also available.

This is essentially a Keurig for baby formula, and it was a timesaver. It dispenses formula instantly—already mixed, warm (if you choose), and at the exact ounces you want. We mostly used breastmilk, but supplemented with formula and it was our go to for nighttime feeds. Instead of pouring water, measuring and mixing powder, and serving it at room temp, we could just press a button and go. Since most of our twins’ bottles were warmed breastmilk, they became used to warm milk, which made the BabyBreeza that much more helpful.
With our twins, I exclusively pumped and bottle-fed for an entire year, which meant we were constantly going through bottles. We had a sterilizer and dryer that worked well, but I always wished we had something that handled the washing too—and now it exists! After researching and hearing from friends who swore by it, this all-in-one washer, sterilizer, and dryer is something I highly recommend. If you’ve got twins, other kids, or just value your time, this is worth it.
Core Gear with Options
Another twin mom gifted me this stroller, and I was so grateful. It’s lightweight and easy to use, which meant I could keep the twins in their infant car seats while running our oldest to Mother’s Day Out or taking quick trips into the store.
I always encourage parents to really research car seats before purchasing since there are so many good options. These are the ones we used for all three of our girls. They’re simple, easy to install, and worked great for us.

This is the stroller I keep in the back of my car for everyday use. It’s smooth, durable, and high quality—perfect for outings.
👉 Play Pen
No matter how many kids you have, a play pen is worth it. It’s a safe spot for babies when you need a minute. And I’ll admit—there were times I zipped us all in and even dozed off while the girls played safely inside.

This activity center is basically a “jumper,” but sturdier—and it comes with wheels! All three of our girls loved bouncing in it and playing with the attached toys. The wheels made it a fun way for them to practice moving around and even start building those early walking skills (while giving my back a much-needed break!). And for a laugh—our toddler loved climbing in it too, long after she’d outgrown it. If your budget and space allow, having two is worth it. Our twins loved to giggle and play together as they were sitting side by side in them.

The Pumps
👉 Spectra
The OG pump. Even though I had a hands-free pump too, I used the Spectra the most—especially for my first and last pumps of the day. It just worked the best. It also fit my Avent bottles, so I could pump directly into them. Pro tip: don’t be afraid to experiment with flange sizes until you find the right fit.
👉 Elvie
Hands-free pumps can be such a blessing, especially with twins. I chose the Elvie after struggling with another brand, and I’m glad I did. While it never produced quite as much as the Spectra, it was incredibly helpful during the day when I needed to pump but also had at least one child awake. It does take time to adjust, but once I got the hang of it, it was awesome.
The Little Things
👉 Backpack
Two babies mean double the diapers, bottles, burp cloths, snacks, and outfit changes. A sturdy backpack makes all the difference.
Until our babies got older, nail clippers were just too hard. This filer made it so much easier.
You’ll want these in every room of the house—trust me.
👉 Lovie
Buy several backups! They sometimes go out of stock, and you don’t want to be without one.
👉 Blankets
Soft, breathable, and perfect for swaddling or snuggles.
Bonus

Here are a few of our favorite books! You’ll enjoy them just as much as your kids!
A beautiful way to start praying over your little ones.
Every family (and every set of twins) is different, but these were the items that carried us through those early months and beyond. Looking back, I’m thankful for the physical tools that helped me survive the chaos of three little ones all under a year and a half!
But even more than the gear, I’ve realized how much I’ve had to lean on God’s daily provision. Whether it was the energy to get through another sleepless night, the patience when everyone needed me at once, or the peace in the middle of dinner when all the food ends up on the floor.
Mama, if you’re in the thick of it right now, I hope this list gives you some practical help, but I also hope it reminds you that you don’t have to do this alone. God sees you, He cares for you, and He will give you exactly what you need for today!
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19
If you’re a twin parent, I’d love to hear what items you couldn’t live without—because we all know sharing ideas is how we survive this wild, wonderful twin journey together. And if you’re just starting out, I'd love to hear what items you're most excited about!
